Card as art

Card art

Our great grandmother Margaretta came to the U.S. from County Down, Northern Ireland. When I was in college, I spent a semester studying at Queen's University Belfast, and during my time there I was lucky to meet and spend time with some of my Northern Irish relatives. One couple, James and Gwen, was so kind and welcoming, and they continue to send me Christmas cards almost 10 years later. Their 2010 card is an easy favorite and one that I plan to display year-round. I love the contrast of the stormy grey skies, roiling blue-green waters, and orange sails.
